Welcome FlowerChild
If you write a blog with the purpose to create a happier next generation, you have to start in your own little environment and take action. So that is what I did today. Tonight I had an open and personal conversation with an eight year old girl who is bullied at school and has practically no friends. My heart broke. Nobody has the right to make this girl feel miserable for nothing. This period of her life should be without worries and fears of not belonging. Being bullied will have enormous consequences for the rest of her life. I have written a mail to the headmaster of the school to propose to them an anti-bullying program with a specialized guest teacher. I have also ordered several copies of this book to give to the girl, to the teachers and to read to my own children. I really hope this will help to create a more positive school climate.

Bullying has become a fashion they learn from those TV series. It’s cool to imitate, to create a “secret” clan and target a victim. Writing a letter to the headmaster is not enough. You have to explain to the kids what it is they are doing and how unfair this is for their victim. Make the kids do an anti-bullying play in which each kid has to role-play the victim and the dumm-assed kid that bullies. Make it a fun play.
